I’m not going to rant about the fact they have just re-released the Beatles back catalogue over on iTunes or the fact that it’s going to bury every decent artist trying to make a living by getting in to the charts (probably excluding the UK charts as they have been on their arse since the mid 80′s.
All I’m going to say is this. Paul McCartney and the Beatles, your music was sub par the first time around, selling it on iTunes isn’t going to make me want to listen to it anymore than I’ve been forced to in the past. Lining your pockets with money from everyone who has more disposable income than sense is a great idea but why should you be allowed to enter international album and singles charts?
How many times have the Beatles re-released or re-mastered an album? Probably more times than Elvis has unknowingly re-released a Christmas album or Tu-pac has released a song with an artist he would have shot in the face if they approached him.
All this publicity and guess what… just in time for Christmas. I’ll leave it at that.
